CHAUNKI
HUI HARI MATTAR(SEASONED GREEN PEAS)
A
north Indian dish,
delicious when made out of fresh peas.
INGREDIENT
:
Green peas
- 480gm.
Cumin seeds
- 85gm.
Garlic cloves
-
1no.
(chopped fine)
Green chilies
-
3gm. (chopped
fine)
Red chili powder
-10 gm.
Lemon juice
-
15 gm.
Coriander leaves
-
4 gm. (chopped)
Vegetable oil-
15gm.
Salt to taste

METHOD
:
Heat oil in a deep
pan, and add cumin seeds. When these begin
to splutter, add garlic and green chilies.
Stir for a few seconds and add peas, salt
and red chili powder. Stir and fry for 2 mins.
Mix well, add a little water, cover pan and
cook on medium heat till peas are tender.
Turn off heat, sprinkle lemon juice and half
of the coriander leaves. Mix gently and cook
till well blended. Garnish with remaining
coriander leaves and serve hot.
Time
taken -- 45 mins.
Serves -- 4.
