Tribal girls lynched in Assam

GUWAHATI:
Two girls have been lynched by villagers in lower
Assam's Kokrajhar district following a local trial
by village elders for indulging in alleged "immoral
activities", police said on Wednesday.
The two girls were beaten to death in Magurmari village
on Monday by some villagers, the police said adding
that their bodies were then thrown near a railway
track.
The victims' bodies bearing injury marks inflicted
by sticks and clubs were recovered Tuesday along the
tracks near Magurmari Tea Estate and sent for post
mortem.
The Adivasi girls were identified as Jauni Munda and
Pakli Mins in their mid 20s, the police said.
The village headman was absconding, the police added
